You might think that sounding like a native speaker in a foreign language is almost impossible. Sometimes that's the way it is, isn't it? You can study grammar and vocabulary, work very hard on prepositions, adjectives and verb tenses. And after all this hard work, it's really, really frustrating to drop your pronunciation, isn't it?
But the ultimate goal of learning another language is communication, right? Be able to communicate a message to someone else. And your pronunciation is the first impression that another person has when they hear your English.
Now, incredibly, good pronunciation can really raise the level of your English. It can bring him in. It is easier to ignore or ignore errors if you hear well, if the listener can understand the words you say and the message always gets through.
But you know what that means, don't you? Poor pronunciation can really lower the level of your English because even if you speak perfect English grammar, your level of English seems to be lower, because the listener cannot understand what you are saying.
What is the point of perfect grammar then, no? Improving your pronunciation will help people understand you and will greatly facilitate communication in English. To do so will require a little practice. A little bit of that.
But with a little dedication, useful tips and a space for practice, I am convinced that you will be able to do so. You will improve your pronunciation. I’m here today to give you five tips that you need to sound better in English so let's get started with the first one :
Tip #1 Choose your accent
if you want to improve your pronunciation quickly and efficiently, you need to choose an accent, at least have an idea about how you want to sound
An American accent or a British one?
Tip #2 Syllable stress
You probably already know that English is not a flat language, right? There are ups and downs and a rhythm in the way we talk and stress can really change the meaning of a sentence.
It's how some syllables in English are stronger than others and this means that you pronounce a syllable more clearly, loudly.
Tip #3 Linking sounds
if you try to speak English more fluently and naturally, you really need to learn to connect words in English and there are some simple rules to help you do so. You just need to know which words can be linked and which linking sounds are commonly used in English.
